Historically the EE was focused on the basic sciences and calculations and could be taught by pharmacologists. This all changed beginning in January 2015 when a new syllabus was released with a 50% exam weighting on pharmacy practice - which only pharmacists, who treat patients, are qualified to provide. The PEBC has announced that a new syllabus will be released in the summer of 2024 that will take effect in June 2025, further increasing the clinical nature of the exam by elevating from the BSc Pharm to the PharmD level while reducing content in the biomedical sciences. This is all a long way of saying that the EE is a highly clinical exam that requires licensed pharmacists faculty. |
